On our way to Lake Placid in New York home of the 1980 Olympic Winter gamesA beautiful wildflower fieldWe’re at the bottom of the Olympic ski jump area watching the happenings when we thought hey, let’s see if we can get up to the top and see from up there.Although it’s not encouraged, they do allow visitors to come up to the tap. But they don’t publicize it so we were the only ones up there. These kids who do the ski jumping are crazy in my opinion looks like a super dangerous sport to get intoI thought the cool picture because I caught the jumper just as he came off the rampListening to the sound as they come down the ramp and push off into their jump is a sound I won’t forgetBear in mind that it’s 90° outside and these ski jumpers are trudging up the stairs carrying their skis while they are also wearing their ski jump attire. Notice how they have sprayed the landing zone with water since there’s no snow.Truly mesmerizing watching these brave athletesLooking out over the Bob sled run areaLinda standing on the actual meds platform where they played the national anthem and handed out the first second and third place winners medalsWe went and picked up sandwiches when we got back into Lake Placid the town and sat in chairs looking out over Lake PlacidWhile driving home, we came through a town that had an interesting park filled with all different kinds and colors of toilets. Interesting artwork don’t you think?
